HOW DO I USE MY GOLF BUDDY VTX?M

  • Initially, make sure that you have set up your Golf Buddy VTX Talking GPS device by referring to the instructions given in the device’s quick start guide.
  • Now, enter Play mode from your device’s Main Menu by tapping a point inside the green box.
  • Once you have entered into the Play mode, you can check the status of your golf game, such as Hole Layout, and Hazard by swiping the Play Mode screen from right to left.

GOLF BUDDY VTX MANUAL

Usually, a hard copy of the Golf Buddy VTX device’s user manual is provided along with it during the product purchase. You can also download a soft copy of the device’s manual from its official support page. On your device’s support page, click on the Manuals tab, followed by the Download button beside the manual that you need.

HOW DO YOU SET UP A GOLF BUDDY VTX?

  • Initially, turn on your Golf Buddy VTX Talking GPS device.
  • To do so, locate the Power button and hold it down for 3 to 4 seconds.
  • Once the device starts to turn on, release the button.
  • Wait for the GPS device to become stable and idle.
  • When prompted, set the current date/time of your region, desired language, and other important preferences.
  • If you find that your device’s battery is below 25% and wish to charge it, then get its USB wall charger, and using it, charge the device battery. You can also use your computer to charge the device battery.
  • Once the device battery is charged, you can connect it to your computer or smartphone.
  • For computer: Get a USB cable, and using it, connect your Golf Buddy VTX device to the computer. Choose the Data Sync option displayed on the device screen and follow the instructions displayed.
  • For smartphone: Enable the Bluetooth option on your device and the smartphone. Now, install and open the GolfBuddy Smart Mobile app on your smartphone. Connect your device to the smartphone by following the on-screen instructions.
  • Once the GPS device is set up, you can enter the Play Mode by tapping a point inside the green box available on the Main Menu screen.

CONNECTING GOLF BUDDY VTX TO MOBILE PHONE

  • Ensure that the Bluetooth option is enabled on your GPS device and the smartphone.
  • To enable the Bluetooth option on your device, tap on that option from the Main Menu screen.
  • Now, on your smartphone, open the GolfBuddy Smart Mobile app. (Note: If you haven’t installed the Golf app on your smartphone, then install it from the App store)
  • Initiate the connectivity process by tapping the GolfBuddy icon available on the main screen of the application.
  • If prompted, log in.
  • Tap the Find My GolfBuddy option.
  • Now, the application will start to search for the Golf GPS device available within your smartphone range.
  • Locate the device and tap on the Plus icon beside it.
  • Now, the application will try to connect with the selected device.
  • Finish the connectivity process by following the on-screen instructions.

HOW DO I UPDATE MY GOLF BUDDY VTX?

The following instructions are suitable only for the Mac computer. (To get instructions for the Windows computer, contact us).

  • Connect your Golf Buddy VTX device to the computer using the USB cable.
  • Make sure that your device is connected securely to the computer by checking the status in the G3 Mac display. To enter the G3 Mac display on your Mac computer, open the G3 Mac program and sign in.
  • Now, initiate the update process by clicking the Next button in the G3 Mac display.
  • Select the Manually update firmware option, followed by your current region.
  • Click the Next button if necessary.
  • Choose the Newly Updated Only option if it is not selected already.
  • Update the Golf unit by following the remaining instructions displayed on the screen.

GOLF BUDDY VTX FACTORY RESET

If you encounter an issue with your Golf Buddy VTX Talking device settings, then you can modify them based on your desire. The correct procedure to factory reset this device is not available. So, you can change the device settings. To do so, follow the below instructions.

  • Tap on the Settings icon available on the device screen.
  • Now, a list of settings, such as Backlight Brightness/Timeout, volume, gender of voice, etc., will be displayed on the device screen.
  • Choose the setting that you wish to modify.
  • Change the settings by following the on-screen instructions.

GOLF BUDDY VTX NOT CHARGING

  • Make sure that the charging cable is plugged correctly into the device.
  • Check if all the prongs on the charging cradle are aligned properly. If not, align them, and then try to charge your device.
  • If you find any dirt particles in the charging terminals of your device, then clean them using a Q-tip with a dab of rubbing alcohol.
  • After cleaning the terminal, try to charge the device again.

GOLF BUDDY VTX NOT CONNECTING

  • For computer: Check whether the USB cable is connected securely at both ends. If not, reconnect it securely.
  • For smartphone: Make sure that the Bluetooth option is enabled on your Golf device and smartphone.
  • Check whether your OS satisfies the system requirements of the Golf device. If not, try to connect your device to a computer or smartphone that meets the requirements.
  • Update your Golf device if any updates are available.

GOLF BUDDY VTX WON'T FIND COURSE

  • Initially, check whether your Golf device is set up correctly. If not, re-perform the setup.
  • Make sure that the date/time on the device is set correctly, based on your current region.
  • Check if the Course Manager application is installed properly on your computer.
  • If not, reinstall it correctly and then try to find a suitable course.
  • Try turning off the device and turn it back on.
