Step 1: Activating

For older versions of Android 

  • On your Android phone, open the  Settings screen.
  • Tap the  Lock screen and security option followed by  Other security settings. Select the  Device admin apps option.
  • Tap  Find My Device Activate.

For the latest version of Android

  • On the  Settings screen, tap on the  Search field.
  • Type the  Device admin apps keyword.
  • Now, from the list of suggestions, select the relevant one.
  • Tap on the  toggle button beside the  Find My Device option to activate it.

Step 2: Configuring the GPS Tracker settings

  • On your Android phone, launch the  Find My Device app.
  • Tap on the  Continue as “XXXX” or  Sign in as guest button. ( Note: XXXX indicates the username of the Google account that is configured on your Android phone).
  • Now, if you have tapped the  Continue as XXXX button, then you’ll be prompted to type your Google account’s password. Enter the password in the given field and tap  Continue. ( Note: If you have forgotten your account password, then tap the “ Forgot password?” command and follow the on-screen instructions to restore your account password.)
  • Similarly, if you have selected the  Sign in as guest button, type the account name of your desire and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • When the message “ Allow Find My Device to access the device’s location” is displayed on the screen, tap on the  Allow all the time, Allow only while using the app, or  Deny button.
  • Now, your Android phone’s details, such as name, battery percentage, and network name, will be displayed on the screen.
  • Configure the  Play Sound and  Secure Device settings according to your preferences.
